Don’t become so attached to what you’re good at or passionate about that it prevents you from exploring other possibilities. This is a form of ignorance.
Knowing what you love to do or what you’re good at is valuable, and you should pursue those passions wholeheartedly. There is no end to how your talents can develop, as they can grow without limits.
However, don’t let the concept of “talent” restrict you from trying new things.
For example, suppose I’m exceptionally skilled at cooking, constantly creating new recipes and achieving excellent flavors. But when it comes to technology, I struggle to keep up and find it difficult to understand new tech. I might want to post cooking tutorials online, but if I don’t know how to edit videos and find it too complicated, I might give up on the idea.
When you tell yourself that you can’t understand new technology, you’re essentially limiting yourself.
No matter your age, if you’re willing to learn—even if it’s at a slower pace—it’s okay. You can learn and understand anything.
Consider your current situation and identify areas where you should practice and develop new skills. Allow yourself to improve and learn new things; these can become new talents for you.
Every new talent you develop supports and enhances the existing ones. Nothing is wasted; everything grows and improves.
Successful and happy people often have multiple talents and never restrict themselves.
Expand your mind and be open to new talents.
With love,
Hanna
